Jodi Gallagher Healy
Jodi Gallagher Healy is an associate in our Toronto Labour and Employment Law group. Jodi provides advice and representation to employers on a wide range of labour and employment issues, including grievance arbitrations, labour relations strategy, human rights and accommodation, wrongful dismissal litigation, employment standards compliance and litigation, workers’ compensation appeals and workplace privacy issues.
Jodi has appeared before a variety of administrative boards, mediators and judicial decision makers, is a frequent author and speaker on labour & employment law issues and has co-taught employment law at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. She has been a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Labour & Employment Section Executive since 2009.
Greg McGinnis
Greg McGinnis is a partner in the Toronto Labour and Employment Law group.
He has a varied practice encompassing all areas of labour and employment law, with considerable experience in labour-management negotiations, work stoppages, union certification, OLRB litigation, and construction industry matters. As a former officer in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps (Reserve), Greg has personal experience managing people in stressful environments. He brings this experience to his client relationships, shepherding them through some of their most difficult business situations to a successful conclusion.
Chris Pigott
Chris Pigott is a member of Heenan Blaikie’s Labour and Employment group. He provides advice to employers and management on a wide range of labour and employment law matters, including labour disputes, wrongful dismissals, employment contracts, employment standards, grievance arbitration, as well as human rights and accommodation.
Chris also advises employers on international labour law matters, including international labour standards, the international union movement, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
During his studies, Chris distinguished himself academically and was recognized for his work in both law and public policy. His academic awards include the Lang Michener Award for highest standing in Contract Law and the Queen’s Graduate Award for his academic achievement.
Evan VanDyk
Evan VanDyk advises clients on a wide range of labour and employment law matters, including employment standards, wrongful dismissal claims, grievance arbitrations, employment contracts, workplace policies, human rights and accommodation.
During his legal studies, Evan was recognized with numerous awards, including Osgoode Hall Law School's Silver Medal as the graduate with the second highest cumulative academic standing over his three years of law school. He had the highest academic standing in first and second year, and received awards for the highest academic standing in labour law, criminal law, commercial law and taxation. He was an editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and worked at Parkdale Community Legal Services, a legal aid clinic funded in part by Osgoode Hall Law School and providing legal advice to low income residents living in the area.
Jeremy Warning
Jeremy Warning is a partner in our Labour and Employment Law group. He advises the firm’s provincial, national and international clients on a full range of labour and employment matters. Jeremy also provides representation to the firm’s clients before the provincial and federal courts, administrative tribunals and before boards of arbitration.
Prior to joining Heenan Blaikie, Jeremy spent seven years with the Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario) where he was seconded to the Legal Services Branch of the Ministry of Labour. During that time he conducted numerous trials and appeals involving Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA) charges, and appeared before all levels of court in Ontario. Jeremy has also appeared before the Ontario Labour Relations Board in many administrative appeals relating to OHSA and ESA matters and has acted as counsel at coroner’s inquests. Jeremy is a co-author of the Annotated Occupational Health and Safety Act, a leading Ontario text used by corporate counsel, occupational health and safety and human resource practitioners, and law firms.
