Most Expensive Cities for Expatriate Employees

Thinking of sending employees overseas to work? Don’t send them to Luanda, Angola without a healthy cost of living increase.

According to a survey completed by a consulting firm to help multinational companies set compensation for expatriate employees, Luanda is the most expensive city in the world for employees working outside of their native countries.  Tokyo ranked second followed by N’Djamena, Moscow, and Geneva.  Toronto, 59th out of 214 surveyed cities, is Canada’s most expensive city followed by Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Ottawa.
